  The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) has unveiled the standard signage of all forms and outdoor advertising for all facets of the City streetscape, and specifies what is acceptable and what is not to Property Service Providers in the state.

 Mrs. Yinka Adedeji who represented the Managing Director of LASAA, Mr. George Kayode unveiled the approved standard flat sign and outdoor advertising at a stakeholders’ seminar that took place at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa Secretariat on November 29, 2013. She informed the gathering that the standard wall sign (Dimension: 1.0m x 0.5m) is free and called for maximum cooperation of the practitioners.

 As part of the commitment of the present administration to sanitize the Estate Agency practice and regulate the activities of the Property Service Providers in Lagos State, the state government has introduced a code of conduct for practitioners, which specifies the rule of practice, and punishment for defaulters.
  The document mandates that a registered agent transacting business must have operational business premises or office within the state that will be verified ; maintain a record of his or her business transactions and shall open a separate bank account for that purpose; ensure that a prospective tenant or purchaser takes physical possession of the property paid for within 14 days except otherwise stated in writing and that his principal performs all necessary obligations due to the government under applicable legislation and regulation.

Nigeria needs N56trn to bridge housing deficit – Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan says Nigeria needs N56 trillion to bridge the country’s 17 million housing units deficit.

Jonathan stated this at the 53rd General Assembly of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) in Abuja.

The shortfall alone minus infrastructure, according to the President, would require more than N56 trillion, at an average cost of N3.5 million per housing unit to remedy.

The President said the task if achieved, would improve on the nation’s prevailing home ownership rate of 25 per cent.
